“Euzubillahiminesheytanirracim.”
“Bismillahirrahmanirrahim”

Dear friends; in our last lesson we had studied the 49th verse of Alu Imran. In these verses we had studied, muslims are been warned about the dangers of becoming christianic minded. Those verses especially arrived during the ninth year after the Hejira, also known as the year of ambassadors, when the christian administrators and religious mans of Necran state visited the Madina; so the verses shows us the typical behaviour patterns of christians how they idolized and deitified their prophets. And we have been warned against this form of idolization. Now we will continue the translations on those warnings.

50-) Ve musaddikan lima beyne yedeyye minet Tevrati ve li uhille lekum ba’dalleziy hurrime aleykum ve ci’tukum Bi ayetin min Rabbikum fettekullahe ve etiy’un;

“And I come confirming what was before me (the original uncorrupted) of the Torah (revealed to Moses)… And to make lawful (halal) for you some of what was forbidden to you (through distortion). I have come to you with a sign – miracle from your Rabb. Protect yourselves from Allah and obey me.” (A.Hulusi)

(I have come to you), to attest the Torah which was before me. And to make lawful to you part of what was (Before) forbidden to you; I have come to you with a Sign from your Lord. So fear Allah, and obey me. (A.Yusuf Ali)

Ve musaddikan lima beyne yedeyye minet Tevrati ve li uhille lekum ba’dalleziy hurrime aleykum I have come to you, to confirm the Torah which was before me. It’s actually a follow-up to the previous verse. From Jesus’s speech. Why am I sent, why am I chosen to be a prophet for the sons of Israel who became Jewminded. And as an answer these words came. Tora; Ve musaddikan lima beyne yedeyye minet Tevrat I have come to you, to confirm the Torah, confirm the truths of those verses which was before me ve li uhille lekum ba’dalleziy hurrime aleykum And to make lawful to some of the things that were forbidden to you before.

The verse talks about the truths came to Jesus from Tora. That means some of the truths were corrupted, forgotten or seized to exist. That’s why Jesus mentioned himself as a reminder of the truths of Tora, truths that were forgotten or deliberately covered.

This is a sign for this. The prophethood is an unseperated concept. No real prophet can falsify the previous prophets. But does the opposite. He confirms. He confirms all the previous messages and every prophet who took these messages from the same source. Also every prophet delivers the same celestial truth with confirming the previous truths. That’s prophet Jesus acted like the Prophet Muhammad, confirming the previous celestial messages and delivers the truth to the community.

And this action proves that the position of prophethood is not something derived or fabricated. Also we understand from Jesus’s expressions that some Jewish religion experts had restricted somethings and showed them as a part of the religion. That’s why Jesus seperated those applications from the real religion. This action shows us that Jesus is also a muceddit. Like every prophet, a muceddit is the returner of the true and pure path.

In fact Moses revitalized Abraham’s message. And Jesus revitalized Moses’s message. Muhammad revitalized the messages of all the previous prophets. That’s why all prophets are called silsilet-ul Musaddikin. That means unlike philosophers; all prophets are like a group that confirms one another. Philosophers are silsilet-ul Mukezzibin. They falsify one another. This is the real proof that prophethood is different than philosopher. As does the religion isn’t some thought process like a simple philosopy.

ve ci’tukum Bi ayetin min Rabbikum And again I brought message from your Rabb. Jesus says; “I brought a message from your Rabb.” In this sentence there is an objection to the Christianic mentality, especially Paul Christianism which claims that Jesus is both a god and the son of god. We are looking to Jesus who says; “I brought message from your Rabb.” The Jesus, Qur’an describes; not a Jesus who claims a godhood but a Jesus who says, “I brought a message from your Rabb.” Fettekullah Then fear Allah, know your responsibilities in front of Allah. ve etiy’un; and follow me.

51-) InnAllahe Rabbiy ve Rabbukum fa’buduh* haza siratun mustekiym;

“Allah (with His Names) is most certainly my Rabb and your Rabb! So become conscious of your servitude to Him and live accordingly. This is the straight path.” (A.Hulusi)

“It is Allah Who is my Lord and your Lord; then worship Him. This is a Way that is straight.'” (A.Yusuf Ali)

InnAllahe Rabbiy ve Rabbukum Prophet Jesus continues here; “Allah is both my Rabb and yours. fa’buduh then worship Allah and Allah alone as you should. haza siratun mustekiym This is sirat-i mustakiym. This is the true path. As you remember my friends, there was another chapter which talks about sirat-i mustakiym. Fatihah. There was IhdinasSiratal’mustakiym; Deliver us to the right path, deliver us to sirat-i mustakiym. That was our pray and we learn the deeper and detailed meaning of true path from the following verses. Siratalleziyne en’amte aleyhim; The way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace, whom you have chose to reach the honesty, truth and faith. Gayril’magdubi aleyhim; Ve laddaaalliyn. (Amin) Not to these two groups path. They are of those whose (portion) is not wrath, and who go not astray.

Right at this point, we should remember the translations we had made back in Fatihah. If we look the last sentence of Fatihah, we see how Rasulallah chose to explain these words. Those whose portion is wrath as in the sons of Israel. And those who go astray as in the community of Jesus which become christians. We learn these two classification from Rasulallah. And now we begin to understand the meaning of becoming christianic minded more throughly.

Christianic mentality is, turning love into unhealthy passion and idolizing what or who you love. If we chose to deliver the meaning from the prophethood perspective, becoming christianic minded is idolizing the prophet.

The opposite was becoming jewminded. We see it with details in the chapter Baqarah. And if we look at it from the same prophethood concept, becoming jewminded is, insulting the prophet. Sons of Israel who becam Jewminded, they stoned their prophets, even killed them. In fact, remember that Jesus was a prophet sent to them. This is the message here. He was a prophet sent to the community of Jews. He was a prophet rose among them. But just like the previous prophets they insulted Jesus, humiliated him, slandered him even tried to murder him.

What have the christians do then? Quite the opposite. They idolize thm. In the name of exalting, they have turned him into a god. Both groups are the victims of ifrat and tefrit. One side as becoming jewminded and the other side as becoming christianic minded. Allah describes one side as those whose portion is wrath and the other side as those who go astray.

magdubi aleyhim addaaalliyn. the attitude of those who meet Allah’s wrath. The attitude of jews, the attitude of those who insulted the prophets. And the other side; the attitude of those who go astray. The attitude of idolizing, over glorifying the prophet. That’s why in one of the hadiths, Rasulallah said these words.

“Don’t make me supernatural, don’t overflow me, don’t turn me into a superhuman like christians did for Jesus, son of Mary. Instead, say this. Abduhu ve Resuluhu Allah’s worshipper and prophet. Say the worshipper, let it be an answer for those idolizers. Say the prophet, let it be an answer for those who mock their prophets, ignore them, insult them. They overlook the aspect of prophethood with their hostile jewish attitudes and they see the prophets as a cable line. Be balanced. That’s why as the poet says;

(Muhammad is a human but not a regular human. He is like a diamond, or a ruby) He is a stone but not a regular one he is valuable.

52-) Felemma ehasse ‘Iysa minhumul kufre kale men ensariy ilAllah* kalel Havariyyune nahnu ensarullah* amenna Billah* veshed Bi enna muslimun;

And when Jesus sensed their denial of the truth, he asked, “Who will help me in the way of Allah?” His disciples answered, “We are the helpers of Allah… We have believed in accord with the letter ‘B’ (that the essence of our being comprises the Names of Allah); witness this with your essence! We are in submission to Allah.” (A.Hulusi)

When Jesus found unbelief on their part he said: “Who will be my helpers to (the work of) Allah?” Said the disciples: “We are Allah’s helpers: We believe in Allah, and do thou bear witness that we are Muslims.” (A.Yusuf Ali)

Felemma ehasse ‘Iysa minhumul kufre when Prophet Jesus sensed their denial of the truth kale men ensariy ilAllah he asked “Who will help me on the way of Allah.”

We came to another scene. Up above there were messages of Jesus for his community. And now Jesus addresses the “ferisi” a group among jews who betrayed the messages of him and denied his position as a prophet, ignore Jesus’s words. So Jesus asked there.

men ensariy ilAllah Who will help me on the way of Allah. The literal meaning of these words are like this. “Who will be my helpers of Allah?” men ensariy ilAllah kalel Havariyyune Apostles, people in white; in hebrew apostle means who dressed with whites. That’s why apostles, who accepted the prophet Jesus, who stood with him, a group of brave and faithful put their entire lives on table and said; nahnu ensarullah We are Allah’s helpers.

Now if we just take these two sentences from the entire verse, we may accidently leave a book opened to a false meaning. Because according to the words above, there is a person who is asking “Who are the helpers of Allah?” and there are people now answering, “We are Allah’s helpers.” If we take these two sentences seperated from the verse it may open a twisted path to Jesus’s false godhood. A rough and corrupted translation may lead to a disaster like this. So to prevent that Apostles also say these words too. amenna Billah We put our faith to Allah veshhed Bi enna müslimun; You Jesus, witness us that we put out faiths to Allah. We are muslims.

We had said that Islam is the name of all constant values of humanity. As we see here once again that Islam is above time and space. That’s why Jesus is a Muslim. Moses is a Muslim. Abraham is a Muslim. Noah is a Muslim. All those who have chose to follow them are Muslims. May the greetings of holy be upon them. That’s why Islam isn’t the name of a belief system for a single community. According to Qur’an every person who dedicated his life to Allah is called a muslim. Apostles continue their prays.

53-) Rabbena amenna Bi ma enzelte vetteba’ner Rasule fektubna ma’ashahidiyn;

“Our Rabb, we have believed in what You have revealed (Jesus) from your reality (essence) and we have followed your Rasul, so register us among the witnesses (of the truth).” (A.Hulusi)

“Our Lord! we believe in what Thou hast revealed, and we follow the Messenger. then write us down among those who bear witness.” (A.Yusuf Ali)

Our Rabb Bi ma enzelte vetteba’ner Rasul We believe the prophet, we believe what You have revealed the Messenger. As in Jesus, The Bible that has revealed to Jesus and all the orders and restriction in Bible. fektubna ma’ashahidiyn; so register us among the witnesses.

Witnesses… Witnesses of the prophethood of Jesus and the process of revelations reaching to humanity. And register among witnesses. Witnessing to what? Every martyr is a witness. People who put their lives to prove their faiths are called witnesses.And in that time they are martyrs. That’s why they were asking from Allah to be counted among the witnesses. Because they were, they witnessed the revelations, they experienced the warm feelings of revelations passing among them, they were the first knowers of those truths. That’s why they were witnesses. In that sense we should remember a hadith of Rasulallah. “Every prophet has their apostles.” In fact every apostle is the one who witnesses the revelations, verses and they put their lives for those truths. After explaining this, Qur’an now points out another happening.

54-) Ve mekeru ve mekerAllah* vAllahu hayrul makiriyn;

They schemed, and received a scheme from Allah in response. Allah is the best of schemers. (In order to eliminate the discloser of the truth they resorted to secretly contriving against him, but through the very same method Allah overcame them, by making their schemes result against them.) (The original word used here to denote scheme is ‘makr.’ Essentially, makr is the undertaking of an action, which separates one from Allah, yet the person is unaware of this and assumes he is not harmed by it so he continues to engage in it. Eventually he falls even further away from Allah, or the actualization of the forces of the Names within his essence, which is by far the greatest punishment one can incur.) (A.Hulusi)

And (the unbelievers) plotted and planned, and Allah too planned, and the best of planners is Allah. (A.Yusuf Ali)

Ve mekeru ve mekerAllah They plotted. They plotted against Jesus. ve mekerAllah Allah broke their plots. What was the plot they set up? As you know the were trying to murder Jesus. Since they became Jewminded, they tried to kill Jesus just like they had done to the other prophets who came before. They plotted but Allah also plotted.

Rashit Riza, explains this plot and how it was crushed in his translation. The one who betrayed Jesus was someone among the apostles; Judas the traitor. He was bought. Romans and the ferisi Jewish rabbinate made him talk with bribe. They had learned Jesus’s location. They came but Roman soldiers had no information regarding Jesus’ description. Judas was in agony at that moment, burning with the fire of betrayal in his conscience. He regretted his decision. At the last moment he introduced himself as Jesus and they took him instead. He paid the price of his betrayal by crucifixiation. Just like that, Allah crushed down, destroyed their plots, their machinations. They thought, they got rid of Jesus by hanging him but in fact they didn’t. vAllahu hayrul makiriyn; Allah plans the best, Allah is the best of planners.

I said they thought they crucified him, because in Bible, that has been the story. The Bible writers for some reason chose to give false information regarding to this added incident. But Qur’an teaches us the real incident with its full disclosure. Also in Barnabas Bible, the incident is described just like Qur’an said. Again in the verse 157 of Nisa Chapter; ve ma kateluhu ve ma salebuhu ve lakin shubbihe lehum Nisa/157. The verse says; “They didn’t kill him or crucified him, the other was shown as a look alike.” This verse confirms the incident is as Rashit Riza described. Or better yet, that explanation of him confirms this verse and explains it better. That’s why we have believed that Jesus wasn’t crucified.

The crucifixiation incident was in fact a Hindu story passed from Hinduism to Christianity by Paul and some other Bible writers. The same story also comes to life in Hinduism. According to Hinduism man borns with sin. And to cleanse the sins of manking a god named Krishna was born, a god without a father or god’s son according to the point of view. In the end, he was crucified for the sins of man as a redemption.

What a coincidence that he also has puncture wounds in his hands and feet. The myth of Krishna in Hinduism was carried to Christianism without touching a single point. That’s why in Christianic mythology the crucifixiation of Jesus is exactly like that.

Adam had done a sin and casted out from heaven. That’s hy every human borns with this sin and as guilty according to christian mentality. And because every human borns with this sin, god wants these people to be cleansed. If god chooses to burn people because of their guilt, that would be an opposition with his grace. And if god chooses to forgive people for this sin, this time it wouldn’t be just. There was no possible way out from this situation until Jesus came. Jesus borned without a father from Mary because Jesus was in fact the god who transform himself as a child. He came to earth as Jesus. So according to christianic mythology, the person who was crucified was god himself. With this way, god sacrificed his son –yes, they also cannot answer that Jesus was the son of god or the god himself- to absolve people from this sin. That’s the phylosopy behind the crucifixiation in christianic mentality. Only explanation as you see.

The myth of Krisha in Brahmanism was carried to christianity without touching a single line. That’s all about it.

55-) Iz kalAllahu ya ‘Iysa inniy muteveffiyke ve rafiuke ileyYE ve mutahhiruke minelleziyne keferu ve cailulleziynettebeuke fevkalleziyne keferu ila yevmil kiyameti, summe ileyYE merciukum feahkumu beynekum fiyma kuntum fiyhi tahtelifun;

And recall when Allah had said, “I’m going to cause you to die (that is, they will not be able to assassinate you through their secret schemes, I will cause you to die when your time comes)… I’m going to raise you to myself (enable you to experience the supremacy of your essence); I’m going to purify you by removing you from among the deniers of the reality (disbelievers) and until Doomsday I’m going to place those who follow you above those who deny the reality. In the end, your return is to Me. I will judge on matters over which you differed between each other.” (A.Hulusi)

Behold! Allah said: “O Jesus! I will take thee and raise thee to Myself and clear thee (of the falsehoods) of those who blaspheme; I will make those who follow thee superior to those who reject faith, to the Day of Resurrection: Then shall ye all return unto Me, and I will judge between you of the matters wherein ye dispute. (A.Yusuf Ali)

Iz kalAllahu ya ‘Iysa That’s when Allah had said; “O Jesus, inniy muteveffiyke I will be the one who will take you ve rafiuke ileyYE and raise you to Myself. ve mutahhiruke minelleziyne keferu I will clear you from those who reject faith ve cailulleziynettebeuke fevkalleziyne keferu ila yevmil kiyameti, I will make those who follow you, who listen to you, superior to those who insult you, who reject faith, to the Day of Resurrection. I will make them superior and above. summe ileyYE merciukum Then you shall all return to Me, feahkumu beynekum fiyma kuntum fiyhi tahtelifun; then I will judge between you of the matters wherein ye dispute.

Truths revealed in this verse, prove the truths I explained above. From the Rabb of All Worlds’ words, “I will give you your death. When we open the meanings further we see a translation with takdim and tehir. As in first, “Raise you to my level.” then “Give you your death.” These two words might switch places. Also some translators choose to explain this part as “I will raise you to my level with your body.” There are various versions and explanations on this subject.

The verse is pretty obvious though. There is no need to search for takdim and tehir. First part is “Give you your death.” and the second part is “Raise you to my level.” It’s very clear. And no other reason for to think otherwise. Why then the explanations have varied to a point; “Raise you to my level, then I will take you, give you your death.”?

There are some hadith which opens to path to this form of translation. These hadith couldn’t coexist with this verse, there were no meaning collaboration. That’s why some translators chose to fit their translations to hadith by using takdim and tehir. But it shouldn’t have been done because if the verse is clear, the translation of hadith must be revised. The meaning which should be processed and explained was the hadith, not the verse. Because at this point it’s clear that Jesus would die, he would meet his death. Also the verse 117 of Maida talks about the death of Jesus too. So not only here but also other verse backs the fact that Jesus had indeed met his death.

At this point, the mentality which chooses to resist on not killing Jesus, is based on a hadith which we see in both Buhari, Muslim and Tirmizi. In that hadith, Jesus will come to earth once again, he had raised to heavens and one day he will return to earth. He will invite people to Islam, he will break the crucifix, silence the church bells and clear all the false thoughs and actions from his religion, turn people to Islam again and only after all those he will meet his death.

I think we should look at this explanation from this perspective. If the story is true and we accept the fact that it was indeed Rasulallah’s message. We should search and find the deeper meanings from the text. Even if we take the message as absolute, the meaning should be taken as the real message will return to earth.

We should see the explanation as those who claim to be christians and corrupted the very nature of the religion will find the true path and purpose of belief. And just like the hadith says, “The sun will rise from the West.”, the followers of Jesus who show their faith to him will turn to Islam and refresh their perspectives by finding the true path of Islam.

The meanings of these hadiths should be taken as this. Also the explanation of Jesus’ death and his soul raised to Allah’s level, we should know that the soul is eternal. But the idea of raising him with his body, that’s against sunnetullah, Allah’s way. According to sunnetullah, what happens on earth, stays on earth.

…ve len tecide lisunnetillahi tahviyla; Fatir/43

That’s why if we adapt these hadith to the verses, the conclusion we reach is this. Jesus was raised to Allah’s level and the longevity of his community will be long an done day those who corrupted the messages of him will find their path to the real truth and save themselves from destruction.

56-) Feemmelleziyne keferu feuazzibuhum azaben shediyden fid dunya vel ahireti, ve ma lehum min nasiriyn;

“But as for those who deny the reality, I will subject them to severe suffering both in this world and the eternal life to come. And they will have no helpers.” (A.Hulusi)

“As to those who reject faith, I will punish them with severe agony in this world and in the Hereafter, nor will they have anyone to help.” (A.Yusuf Ali)

Feemmelleziyne keferu feuazzibuhum azaben shediyden fid dunya vel ahireti, But as for those who deny the reality, I will subject them to severe suffering both in this world and the eternal life to come. ve ma lehum min nasiriyn; And they will have no helpers.”

57-) Ve emmelleziyne amenu ve amilus salihati feyuveffiyhim ucurehum* vAllahu la yuhibbuz zalimiyn;

And those who believed in ‘their essential reality’ and engaged in the necessary practices, the results of their work will be given to them in full. Allah does not like the wrongdoers! (A.Hulusi)

“As to those who believe and work righteousness, Allah will pay them (in full) their reward; but Allah loveth not those who do wrong.” (A.Yusuf Ali)

Ve emmelleziyne amenu ve amilus salihati As to those who believe and work righteousness, those who prove their faiths feyuveffiyhim ucurehum* Allah will pay them (in full) their reward vAllahu la yuhibbuz zalimiyn; Allah does not like the wrongdoers! Just like Allah doesn’t like tyrants, Allah doesn’t like tyrany as well. Removing Jesus from humanity is a tyrany. Slandering him is a tyrany. Idolizing Jesus as the christians have done is a tyrany. Also slandering him and his mother like the lies of fornication is a tyrany. That’s why Allah doesn’t like tyrants.

58-) Zalike netluhu aleyke minel ayati vez zikril hakiym;

This knowledge contains signs (pertaining to past events that are unknown to you) and wise remembrance (revealing the wisdom of those events). (A.Hulusi)

“This is what we rehearse unto thee of the Signs and the Message of Wisdom.” (A.Yusuf Ali)

Zalike all these netluhu aleyke minel ayati are the messages we informed you vez zikril hakiym; and they are the Message of Wisdom.

59-) Inne mesele ‘Iysa indallahi kemeseli Adem* halekahu min turabin summe kale lehu kun feyekun;

“Indeed, the formation of Jesus in the sight of Allah is like that of Adam (if the formation of Jesus is like that of Adam, then the formation of Adam is like that of Jesus. This is the angle from which we should approach this topic). He created him from dust, then said to him ‘Be’ and he was (the creation of man by breathing the spirit [the activation of the forces of the Names] into that which is formed by dust – a molecular structure – is the same as breathing the spirit into a molecular structure formed in the mother’s womb). (A.Hulusi)

The similitude of Jesus before Allah is as that of Adam; He created him from dust, then said to him: “Be”. And he was. (A.Yusuf Ali)

Inne mesele ‘Iysa indallahi kemeseli Adem The similitude of Jesus before Allah is as that of Adam. Those who have been surprised of Jesus, those who say “Jesus borned without a father.” and by that idolizing him. Qur’an asks them, “What will you do for Adam then?” Adam; not only he had borned without a father, but without a mother too. If you declare Jesus as the son of god just because he borned without a father, what will you do about Adam then? What kind of logic is this? How can those christianic religious experts see Jesus as a god because of his lack of a father but declare Adam as a disgrace just because a single sin he had committed? This is the declaration of this verse. halekahu min turabin Allah formed him from the dust. summe kale lehu kun feyekun then said to him: “Be”. And he was.

Here, it is said that borning fatherless cannot be a sign of godship. If borning without a father would grant a person to become a god; than what would borning without a father and a mother grant that person? That’s why you should make this comparison. And the verse continues.

60-) ElHakku min Rabbike fela tekun minel mumteriyn;

This is the Truth from your Rabb, so do not be of those who doubt! (A.Hulusi)

The Truth (comes) from thy Lord alone; so be not of those who doubt. (A.Yusuf Ali)

ElHakku min Rabbike This is the Truth from your Rabb. Which truth? The one explained above. The whole truth, especially about Jesus. Because these facts were nowhere to be found those days, no book had written about them. Truths that could never be known and transfered those days, truths that couldn’t be revealed unless they came from the actual source. Only the truths that can be known by Allah. That’s why the message here says, “This is the Truth from your Rabb.” fela tekun minel mumteriyn; so don’t be of those who doubt.

To understand completely of this verse, we should remember the background of the arrival of these verses compilation. There was a great debate between Rasulallah and the Christianic group selected among leaders, priests and religious figures of the 64 ambassadors who came from Necran; they were arguing in Masjid-i Nebevi, the mosque of Rasulallah. The debate was about Jesus, his birth, his godhood and the relations with Allah.

There were also some Christian scholars in the area, some Arabic leaders who were christians back then. Rasulallah debated not only the foreigner christian leaders but some local religious figures which were initially Arabs but chose to convert this Christianism. There was an amazing debate going on in Rasulallah’s mosque. Rasulallah one side and all the leaders on the other. So while the debate was going on, these verses sent down one after another as truths, so that Rasulallah informed the group with those truths. According to the stories we read, they finally gave up.

After this final proof, they gave up. Because about this comparison with Adam and Jesus, the christian ambassadors couldn’t find an argument to back their claims. They couldn’t find a proof to defend their trinity ideology. That’s why Rasulallah said the final words in that debate.

61-) Femen hacceke fiyhi min ba’di ma caeke minel ilmi fekul te’alev ned’u ebnaena ve ebnaekum ve nisaena ve nisaekum ve enfusena ve enfusekum summe nebtehil fenec’al la’netallahi alel kazibiyn;

Whoever disputes this reality after this knowledge has come to you, say, “Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves, and pray; may the wrath of Allah be upon those who lie about the reality.” (A.Hulusi)

If anyone disputes in this matter with thee, now after (full) knowledge Hath come to thee, say: “Come! let us gather together,- our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves: Then let us earnestly pray, and invoke the curse of Allah on those who lie!” (A.Yusuf Ali)

Femen hacceke fiyhi min ba’di ma caeke minel ilmi If anyone still disputes with you about this after the knowledge has come to you fekul tell them te’alev ned’u ebnaena ve ebnaekum Come. Let’s gather our sons and your sons ve nisaena ve nisaekum our wives and your wives ve enfusena ve enfusekum Our people and your people. Let’s gather people who follow each party and let’s in front of them, upon their heads summe nebtehil with earnest pray and beg. fenec’al la’netallahi alel kazibiyn; Let’s invoke the wrath of Allah on those who lie. This request was sent by Allah via Rasulallah. So when he was asked to deliver this request Rasulallah told these words to the letter. He called them to mulaene. Cursing. “Whoever is the lying party, let’s pray that curse should be upon them. Are you in for this cursing?”

According to the historical records there was 14 people in this 64 ambassadors group. Among the council of 14 which were highly educated; one of them immediately warned the others. “There have been no community in history escape the wrath of Allah if they curse with a prophet. They all perished.” He said. “Don’t you ever do that.” This individual was the brother of the Necran State’s leader, also one of the greatest scholars. With that warning they gave up. They refused the cursing and replied. “O Muhammad. We accept to pledge our loyalty to you. We will pay our taxes. Our state is in your protection from now on. We accept to pay our fines and taxes but in return leave us be in our religion.” So Rasulallah let them with their beliefs. They were free to do their religions beliefs and paid their taxes to the Islamic state at the same time.

62-) Inne haza lehuvel kasasul hakk* ve ma min ilahin illAllah* ve innAllahe leHUvel Aziyz’ul Hakiym;

Indeed, this is the truth of the matter. Godhood is an invalid concept; only Allah! In truth, Allah is HU, the Aziz, the Hakim. (A.Hulusi)

This is the true account: There is no god except Allah. and Allah – He is indeed the Exalted in Power, the Wise. (A.Yusuf Ali)

Inne haza lehuvel kasasul hakk Indeed, this is the truth of the matter. The verse says this. This is also an interesting proof in Qur’an methodology, tafsir methodology. This pattern seperates Qur’an’s stories from Qur’an’s interests. There are stories in Qur’an. Historical facts, stories from the back. And there are topics.

The biggest debates of these days are those stories in Qur’an and their historical accuracy. Were those events really occured in the past or not. I think those debates are unnecessary. Because their existence in the past are not the real points Qur’an wants to give, it’s the topics, concerns. Those stories are present for examples. That’s why there is no necessity for their accuracy through history. But you can understand that those events really occured back then from the verses like these in Qur’an.

In fact Qur’an seperates them. Inne haza lehuvel kasasul hakk In other verses or other stories you may see this expression by the beginning or the end. Nahnu nekussu aleyke nebeehum bil Hakk.. Keyf/13. Expressions like this. They all come with the word El Hakk. So what does that tell us? This points out three things.

1-This story is well known. Even with the crude details. The story is well known by the readers of that age.

2-This incident is known wrong, with false assumptions. Or missing parts. We may notice these types of stories from the expressions we catch from the beginning or at the end. Stories that are known falsely.

3-This is the truth. As in the verse explains the mistake. You read the true version of this story, excluding the false parts. Because these are verses, revelations for humanity.

This is why there is a warning sign here. Inne haza lehuvel kasasul hakk* This is the truth of matter: There is no god except Allah. ve ma min ilahin illAllah* There is no god, only Allah. ve innAllahe leHUvel Aziyz’ul Hakiym; and Allah is indeed the Exalted in Power, the Wise.

63-) Fein tevellev fe innAllahe Aliym’un Bil mufsidiyn;

If they turn away (from this truth), indeed Allah knows the corrupters (enforces the consequences of it). (A.Hulusi)

But if they turn back, Allah hath full knowledge of those who do mischief. (A.Yusuf Ali)

Fein tevellev fe innAllahe Aliym’un Bil mufsidiyn If they turn away, despite all these, despite the fact that Allah informed them with the truth they still choose to turn back; they should know that Allah knows the corrupters, mischief makers.

Story ends and another call comes. Another topic. A new one. The call of unity. Because first the claims were proven. As in the falses were revealed. This method also shows us the way of Qur’an, the uslubullah. How can a truth be informed to a person or a community? We learn the method from here. First reveal the falses of the group you wish to inform. After revealing the falses of them, after proving your truths, Qur’an calls them to this truths and says;

64-) Kul ya ehlel Kitabi te’alev ila kelimetin sevain beynena ve beynekum ella na’bude illAllahe ve la nushrike Bihi shey’en ve la yettehize ba’duna ba’dan erbaben min dunillahi, fein tevellev fekulushhedu Bi enna muslimun;

Say, “O those to whom the knowledge of reality has come, let us come together on a common understanding, let us not consider servitude to anything other than Allah, let us not associate any partners (live in duality) to Allah, our essential reality; let not some of us deify (take as gods besides Allah) others of us (like Jesus).” If they turn away from this then say to them, “Bear witness that we are of those who have submitted to Allah.” (A.Hulusi)

Say: “O People of the Book! come to common terms as between us and you: That we worship none but Allah; that we associate no partners with him; that we erect not, from among ourselves, Lords and patrons other than Allah.” If then they turn back, say ye: “Bear witness that we (at least) are Muslims (bowing to Allah’s Will).” (A.Yusuf Ali)

Kul ya ehlel Kitabi te’alev ila kelimetin sevain beynena ve beyneküm Say: “O People of the Book! We should meet on the common grounds between us and you. I invite you to this mutual terms. ella na’bude illAllahe We won’t worship anyone but Allah. This is the first rule of our mutual term.

As you can see this call is valid even today. This is the call for unity confederation. The call of unity and it involves all. The person who replied to this call comes under the banner of unity. That’s why the call has been valid since it first made. That’s why we don’t call people to us. We call them to unity. Because we are also called to unity. That’s why no one should say; “Come to me.” On the contrary, we should say, “Come to yourself, come to your senses. Return to yourself, your essence, because you may see the unity in your essense. You see the unity in your fitrat. You see the signs of celestial marks in your creations bases then you will understand.” This is the exact unity call. O, the people of the book. Let’s come to the mutual terms. Term number one. We won’t worship anyone, but Allah.

ella na’bude illAllahe ve la nushrike Bihi shey’en We won’t give godhood to anyone but Allah ve la yettehize ba’duna ba’dan erbaben min dunillahi, We won’t accept other gods besides Allah fein tevellev fekulushhedu Bi enna muslimun; If they still turn their backs after all these, them tell them; “Witness that we are indeed Muslims. We submit the Allah’s call. Those who submit to Allah should come to this call. So tell that you follow this call. As in “We cannot follow you anymore. We are invited by Allah, we come to Allah’s invite, not yours.” So that they should know this fact too. So that they should realize that you don’t invite them to you, to your community; but in fact you invite them to Allah’s call. They realize you are not only inviting them to Allah’s mutual call but you also come to the same invitation. That’s why you should come to the same invitation of Allah.

65-) Ya ehlel Kitabi lime tuhaccune fiy Ibrahiyme ve ma unziletit Tevratu vel Inciylu illa min ba’dihi, efela ta’kilun;

O those to whom the knowledge of reality has come, why do you argue about Abraham? The Torah and the Gospel were revealed after him (hence they narrated the situation). Do you not have the intellect to realize this? (A.Hulusi)

Ye People of the Book! Why dispute ye about Abraham, when the Torah and the Gospel Were not revealed till after him? Have ye no understanding? (A.Yusuf Ali)

Ya ehlel Kitabi lime tuhaccune fiy Ibrahiyme Again the verse steps in to another topic related to the previous ones. The call of Abraham to the truth. O The People of The Book lime tuhaccune fiy Ibrahiym Why do you argue about Abraham ve ma unziletit Tevratu vel Inciylu illa min ba’dihi Both Tora and Bible were revealed after him. Yes.

Christians were saying “Abraham is ours.”. Jews were saying, “No, Abraham is ours. We won’t give him to you.” Qur’an asks at this point. “Why do you argue over Abraham. Both Tora and Bible revealed after Abraham. How can Abraham be either of your property then?” That’s why Islam’s mutual call is to the Unity as a message and Abraham as a person. As in; “If we should unite over one person, let’s unite over Abraham. Because Abraham was carrying the flag of Unity.”

Both three religions have come from the roots of Abraham. Then what is the problem among them? The problem was the issues we talked above, don’t give godhood to another one. We shouldn’t worship anyone but Allah. This was the message because this was exactly the main problem. Especially to Christians because they are the ones who fall into this wrong assumptions. Also both they and jews were putting their rabbis and priests as gods or the middle mens to gods. This is the meaning of this verse.

Ittehazu ahbarehum ve ruhbanehum erbaben min dunillahi.. Tevbe/31

“They took their rabbis and priests as Rabbs besides Allah.” the verse says. When this verse had come down,Hatem bin Adyy, once a christian priest then convert to Islam came to Rasulallah and asked. “O Rasulallah Christians and Jews haven’t been worshipping their rabbis and priests as gods.”

Rasulallah answered; “No worshipping isn’t about bowing down. They put restrictions to things and people follow their rules. They give free pass to the things are really restricted and people follow their rules. This is godhood and worshipping.” If a person decides what is restricted and what is not; and if people follow their rules and leave Allah’s orders; those who follow him accept the godhood of that person. According to Rasulallah’s description.

efela ta’kilun; Both Tora and Bible sent down after Abraham; have you no understanding. Do your heads won’t work? Can’t you even think this fact? When you say; “Abraham is ours, not yours.”, can’t you even see that Abraham is before your time. Abraham was before both Tora, Bible and Qur’an. That’s why Qur’an asks here? “Have you no understanding?”

66-) Ha entum haulai hacectum fiyma lekum Bihi ilmun felime tuhaccune fiyma leyse lekum Bihi ‘ilm* vAllahu ya’lemu ve entum la ta’lemun;

(It is bad enough) you argue over things about which you have little knowledge, but why do you argue over things about which you have no knowledge? Whereas Allah knows, and you know not! (A.Hulusi)

Ah! Ye are those who fell to disputing (even) in matters of which ye had some knowledge! But why dispute ye in matters of which ye have no knowledge? It is Allah Who knows, and ye who know not! (A.Yusuf Ali)

Ha entum haulai hacectum fiyma lekum Bihi ilmun (Let’s say) You argue over the things you have little knowledge felime tuhaccune fiyma leyse lekum Bihi ‘ilm but why do you argue over things about which you have no knowledge. Look at this expression of Qur’an. Let’s accept that you fight over the things you already know even by a little. So in what sense you argue over the things that you have absolutely no idea of? This words are for a community or should we include ourselves? Is it for people who debate over everything? Haven’t we also done the same thing today? Even we discuss over the things that we lack knowledge of and think that arguing with uneducated people leads to nothing at the same time?

felime tuhaccune fiyma leyse lekum Bihi ‘ilm* vAllahu ya’lemu ve entum la ta’lemun; But Allah knows what you don’t know. You don’t know what? You have no idea how catastrophic it would be to argue over the things you don’t know about. You have no idea what a great loss it would be if you argue with uninformed people. But Allah knows the depths of this loss for these talks. That’s why Allah warns you.
67-) Ma kane Ibrahiymu yahudiyyen ve la nasraniyyen ve lakin kane haniyfen muslima* ve ma kane minel mushrikiyn;

Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Christian… But he was of those (hanif) who did not believe in a god (external deity) and was aware that only Allah existed (the concept of oneness) and had submitted to Him (knew that Allah had absolute administration over their existence). His comprehension was free from duality! (A.Hulusi)

Abraham was not a Jew nor yet a Christian; but he was true in Faith, and bowed his will to Allah’s (which is Islám), and he joined not gods with Allah. (A.Yusuf Ali)

Ma kane Ibrahiymu yahudiyyen ve la nasraniyyen Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Christian. ve lakin kane haniyfen muslima* but he was a hanif (a true faithful), a real muslim in all senses. Like I said before the name muslim isn’t about one community; every person who believes the constant values of humanity is a muslim. That’s why the prophet Abraham wa also a muslim. ve ma kane minel mushrikiyn; and he wasn’t with those who shirk Allah or give godhood to someone else. A subtle hint for christians here. How can you try to own Abraham. Also for Jews as well. Ezra who came after the arrival of Tora; Jews have given him a celestial position a godlike power in their minds. They call him the second Moses. In some senses they raise them to a godly position.

That’s why these words are for both communities. You shirk with your attitudes. Abraham had jumped into fire just for not to shirk. So how can you try to relate to him? What kind of resemblance can you have with Abraham? He had laid his life to avoid shirk and you run into shirk in every chance you have.

68-) Inne evlenNasi Bi Ibrahiyme lelleziynettebe’uhu ve hazen Nebiyyu velleziyne amenu* vAllahu Veliyyul mu’miniyn;

Indeed, the closest ones to the truth with Abraham are those who follow his understanding, this Nabi (Muhammad saw) and those who believe in him. Allah is the Waliyy of the believers. (A.Hulusi)

Without doubt, among men, the nearest of kin to Abraham, are those who follow him, as are also this Prophet and those who believe: And Allah is the Protector of those who have faith. (A.Yusuf Ali)

Inne evlenNasi Bi Ibrahiyme lelleziynettebe’uhu Indeed among men, the nearest of kin to Abraham, are those who follow him. Yes, being a next of kin is not about having a father-son relation or saying him as your relative. That’s why Abraham had prayed for his own father at first. But Allah told him not to pray for him, so he gave up. But Abraham prayed for his unborned children and their bloodlines which would come thousands years time, he prayed for the followers of his faith and Allah accepted that pray. That’s why today Hacc is the living answer for that call, for that pray.

ve hazen Nebiyyu velleziyne amenu as are also this Prophet and those who believe; they are the ones who stay close to Abraham. vAllahu Veliyyul mu’miniyn; Allah is close to all believers. As in those are the ones who are close to Abraham; that prophet and those who follow him. Allah is close to all faithfuls who follow Abraham, Muhammad, Jesus or Moses.

69-) Veddet taifetun min ehlil Kitabi lev yudillunekum* ve ma yudillune illa enfusehum ve ma yesh’urun;

A group of those to whom the knowledge of reality has come, wanted to lead you astray, but they cannot lead anyone astray other than themselves. Yet they do not realize this. (A.Hulusi)

It is the wish of a section of the People of the Book to lead you astray. But they shall lead astray (not you), but themselves, and they do not perceive! (A.Yusuf Ali)

Veddet taifetun min ehlil Kitabi lev yudillunekum* It is the wish of a section of the People of the Book to lead you astray they want to lose your path. ve ma yudillune illa enfusehum but they cannot lead anyone astray other than themselves ve ma yesh’urun; Yet they do not realize this.

Every corrupter, only corrupts himself at the end. In fact every denier gives the greatest harm to himself with his denial. But they cannot even realize that. It’s their calamity. It’s their great disaster. Devil, they know about the devil. Also they know what the devil does as bad. But humans cannot be crafty as the devil because he cannot understand what they do are evil. That’s why some people cannot even act as the devil even their actions have the potential to be otherwise.

70-) Ya ehlel Kitabi lime tekfurune Bi ayatillahi ve entum teshhedun;

O you to whom the knowledge of reality has come, even though you bear witness to the reality, why do you deny the existence of Allah in His signs (the manifestations of His Names)? (A.Hulusi)

Ye People of the Book! Why reject ye the Signs of Allah, of which ye are (yourselves) witnesses? (A.Yusuf Ali)

Ya ehlel Kitabi lime tekfurune Bi ayatillahi ve entum teshhedun; You, the people of the Book. Why do you reject the verses of Allah, even you bear witness to them? Why do you resist on denial?

71-) Ya ehlel Kitabi lime telbisunel Hakka Bil batili ve tektumunel Hakka ve entum ta’lemun;

O you to whom the knowledge of reality has come, why do you hide the Truth within falsity and conceal the Truth while you repeatedly know of it? (A.Hulusi)

Ye People of the Book! Why do ye clothe truth with falsehood, and conceal the truth, while ye have knowledge? (A.Yusuf Ali)

Ya ehlel Kitabi lime telbisunel Hakka Bil batili You People of the Book! Why do you cloth the truth with falsehood ve tektumunel Hakka ve entum ta’lemun; why do you conceal the Truth while you have knowledge?

Qur’an asks and asks constantly. It says you conceal the truth, you cloth the truth with falsehood. As you can see, clothing the truth with falsehood is something like mixing the white with black and having the grey, mixing the truths with superstitious. Yes, this is shirk. Shirk is a company. The mutual place where the truth stays with false. It doesn’t matter in this company who owns the greatest share. Even you give the 10 percent to falsehood and 90 percent to the truth. It still doesn’t matter. You cannot say, “It’s only 10 percent of falsehood, what’s the harm in that?” It’s like putting 10 percent of dirt into 90 percent of honey. Can you eat that? Even a spoonful of dirt makes the entire honey inedible.

Shirk is dirt. I’m not saying this, beg pardon. Qur’an says this. Ya eyyuhelleziyne amenu innemel mushrikune necesun.. (Tevbe/28) Shirk is filth. That’s why you cannot say; “It’s still 90 percent honey, it’s still clean. What’s the harm of that 10 percent filth. You can still eat most of it.” You cannot say that, because that would be the real shirk. Once they become one in the same pot, there was no clean anymore. Everything become worthless. Also they commit a second crime. Concealing the truth.

Dear friends, changing the truth is a felony all by itself. And concealing it is another altogether. In fact every corrupter of the truth is also a concealer. Because the corrupted truth is no longer a truth. A truth clothed with falsehood is no longer valid. That’s why knowing the real truth gives you a responsibility of delivering it. If you know the real truth and choose not to deliver it, not to say it to another; (Allah forbids) it’s like becoming a partner in crime, hiding a criminal, concealing a crime. That’s why concealing the truth knowingly is making wrong to the Hakk. But this verse was talking about the prophethood of Rasulallah. They had knowledge about the arrival of prophet but they were trying to conceal it knowingly.

72-) Ve kalet taifetun min ehlil Kitabi aminu Billeziy unzile alelleziyne amenu vechen nehari vekfuru ahirehu leallehum yerci’un;

A group of those to whom the knowledge of reality came said, “Go to the believers and tell them, ‘we have believed in what has been revealed’ then reject it at the end of the day (by saying you thought about it and realized it was not possible). Thus, maybe they too will (follow you and) abandon their way.” (A.Hulusi)

A section of the People of the Book say: “Believe in the morning what is revealed to the believers, but reject it at the end of the day; perchance they may (themselves) turn back; (A.Yusuf Ali)

Ve kalet taifetun min ehlil Kitabi aminu Billeziy unzile alelleziyne amenu vechen nehari A group of the People of the Book said this. aminu Billeziy unzile alelleziyne amenu vechen nehari At the beginning of the day, go tell the believers, faithfuls that you also believe. So-called smart ones were giving tactics. Tell them you believe, you show faith. Of course the faith here is not a real one but a simple show.

So why all the trouble, who did they say that they believe? vekfuru ahirehu At the end of the day, deny the message. Look at this tactic. One of satans tactics for sure. Acting as they accept you at first. Which one? In fact this story is from el-Esam, a story we read in that book delivered by Razi. According to that story this is what happened back then. At the beginning of the day they were calling some of the newly arrived verses as true because they were also in Tora, the Jews holy book. They were confirming their truth. But they were calling some other verses, verses that cannot be found or backed by Tora as fake. As you can see their scale wasn’t Allah. And when someones scale is not Allah, their calls for something as true or false don’t mean anything.

But of course this is something beyond that. The message we read i this verse is; at the beginning of the day, you tell them you believe what was brought down and at the end of the day, deny it. That makes them think; “This man… He has logic, if he was like the others, if he was with prejudice; he would completely deny all the messages. But he say true as the truth and false for the fakes.” This is completely a conception tactic. They were showing themselves like they accept some part of them and deny some other part.

First we should look at this persons loyalty to Allah. Because the problem is him confirming Allah’s messages or denying them. This is not about some other persons words. This person denies Allah’s messages, right? Then his approval for some of the verses doesn’t mean anything. If he has denial in him, even for a small part; then his confirmation doesn’t work for anything. Because the problem of that person is his relations, his connections with Allah. This is the real meaning of submission to Allah.

A while back, we had talked about being a Muslimun. We had talked about the submission of Abraham, submissions of apostles. What does this submission express? Accepting Allah’s messages completely. Is this message from Allah. All right, then I have nothing more to say. If Allah says this, it’s true. That’s why whenever we read Qur’an, we say; “Sadakallahul azim”. It means “If Allah said this, then it’s true. Because faith is only the preliminary knowledge. If you approach to Qur’an without it, you understand things completely different. When you approach it with faith, the message become something different entirely. With faithful eyes you percieve a verse in one meaning, but with unfaithful eyes what you percieve becomes something else.

I’m not saying that you should try. Because looking with unfaithful eyes is impossible for a true believer. But you also don’t have to try yourselves. Look at the unfaithful peoples and their behaviours against Qur’an. That’s why Hudellil Muttekin Qur’an is a salvaton for muttakis. For those who look at it with faith. For those who have a faithful heart, it’s salvation. Not for the others though. It raises the infidels denials and believers faiths.This is important. That’s why Qur’an says; …shifaun ve rahmetun lil mu’miniyne, ve la yeziyduz zalimiyne illa hasara; (Isra/82) Remedy for true believers and raises the frustration of those who wrong themselves. This is the expression of Qur’an for itself.

That’s why dear friends, our point of view to Qur’an is important. Approaching to Allah’s verses from a right angle is important. If you behave picky, if you try to accept what you think is good for you, but deny what you don’t like even for a little, remember this falls into the same category of shirk as I described before. No one should be picky with Allah’s speech. Because submission is not this. Submission is surrendering to everything which comes from Allah. Not to the things what you find agreeable.

What did the satan do? Satan never denied the existence of Allah. He never denied the greatness of Allah either. He said; “I swear on your greatness, o Rabb.” Yes, satan believes the greatness of Allah. He believes that Allah is the creator. But that wasn’t the problem. The real problem was his envy, his jealousy, His immoral behaviour. He disobeyed one order of Allah. And he also had a reasonable and logical proof for doing it. He had said; “I never bow down to anyone except Allah.” A logical reasoning as you can see.

leallehum yerci’un; So, those people what were they hoping for? They were saying; “At the beginning of the day tell them you believe, act like you believe. But at the end of the day deny the message; what was their purpose of doing it? leallehum yerci’un; Maybe they can turn some of them around. As in they were doing it to corrupt the beliefs of true believers, turn them back from their faiths. Look at their wicked intentions.

73-) Vela tu’minu illa limen tebi’a diynekum* kul innel huda hudAllahi, en yu’ta ehadun misle ma utiytum ev yuhaccukum inde Rabbikum* kul innel fadle Bi yedillahi yu’tiyhi men yesha’* vAllahu Vasi’un ‘Aliym;

“Do not believe those who do not follow your religion!” Say, “Guidance is the guidance of Allah (involves the realization that the Names of Allah comprise one’s being). Do you oppose because the like of what has been given to you is given to another, or because they are going to prevail over you (with what has been given to them) in the sight of your Rabb?” Say, “Most certainly, bounty is in the hands of Allah, He gives it to whom He wills. Allah is the Wasi, the Aleem.” (A.Hulusi)

“And believe no one unless he follows your religion.” Say: “True guidance is the Guidance of Allah. (Fear ye) lest a revelation be sent to someone (else) like unto that which was sent unto you? or that those (receiving such revelation) should engage you in argument before your Lord?” Say: “All bounties are in the hand of Allah. He granteth them to whom He pleaseth: And Allah careth for all, and He knoweth all things.” (A.Yusuf Ali)

Vela tu’minu illâ limen tebi’a diynekum this words are also belong to them. They were saying; “Do not believe those who do not follow your religion!” This is the problem, right here. In fact I see this problem even today, among the people who call themselves Muslim. Don’t believe to the people who doesn’t follow your religion. As in your issues are not Allah’s book, not Allah’s religion; it’s all about the religion image you drew in your mind, the religion you created by yourself and deny everyone who doesn’t follow your religions patterns. Condemned them to hell, drag them into the pits, because in your heads they are all infidels. Unfortunately this disease is still around these days.

This is called taassup. A muslims becoming jewminded, a muslims becoming the victim of turning into a christianic mentality. Pushing the person from himself if that person doesn’t follow the religion patterns in his mind; if he doesn’t believe the sect, his group, his ecole, his cult; basically if he doesn’t follow his road. Antagonizing him. Blaming him with, tadlil, with blasphemy, with infidelity. Even trying to send him to hell. That’s that. They were the ones who said this words. “Don’t believe anyone unless they follow your religion.”

kul innel huda hudAllah And this should be the answer to them. Tell them; “True guidance is the guidance of Allah.” en yu’ta ehadun misle ma utiytum This is one of the challanging verses to translate in Qur’an. All scholars both old and new ones, have agreed the hardship of this verse and its meaning. Razi, one of those scholars who processed this verse most, explains about five kind of deals. Five types of translations, so to speak. I will deliver one of them to you, one I think is the most accurate. en yu’ta ehadun misle ma utiytum the like of what has been given to you is given to another. We should bind this with the following sentences.

ev yuhaccukum inde Rabbikum or do you oppose because they force you to engage an argument before your Lord?” Because of the proofs they brought, you say things like “Don’t believe them, don’t believe anything they say.”

We should add all things together now. en yu’ta ehadun misle ma utiytum Do you oppose because the like of what has been given to you is given to another, ev yuhaccukum inde Rabbikum or because they are going to prevail over you in the sight of your Rabb?” Is this why you behave muslims so badly? This is an expression of total envy. As in both jews and christians never claimed that the message of the Qur’an and Rasulallah are nothing but empty superstitious words. No, they believe the origins but the satans instincts are at work here. Just like the envy of satan to Adam, they couldn’t accept the fact that the truths that once were in their possession and responsibility was given to another. The logic here is “If it comes, it should come from and by us, nobody else.

That’s why they were waiting the prophet among themselves. If the prophet had come from their groups they would accept him. Then again there were other prophet which came among them but they still stoned them to death anyway. We had studied similar verses explaining this situation, “They had sent their own prophets to their death, O Muhammad. What wouldn’t they do you?” This was meaning of the warning to Rasulallah from the Rabb of All Worlds.

At that point they were acting like that because of their jealousy. Why? Because of their chauvinism, racism. They wanted to show their faith to a national god, a national prophet and a national book. Not Allah. That’s why they still want to nationalize the god. “If he’s not from us, even he is the best, even full of miracles, we won’t give a care.” This is completely a beduin behaviour. “Might be from the mud, if it’s us, it’s us.” You may see the same behaviour pattern even today. “It might not worth a thing, but if it is among us, then it’s the best for us.” This logic. Or for a woman. “Woman, don’t care what kind, it must be a woman only.” Making something a part of an –ism. This is a jewish logic. Looking for quality, asking for the value, searching for the real truth. Those must be the real criterias, right? But there the jews were doing quite the opposite. If he would be among us, we would follow him. But since he’s not then we don’t care. Basically those who had thoughts like these had never believed Rasulallah completely.

The example is interesting for this particular situation. There was a leader among non-believers. A leader from the clan of shems. They had a relative bond from the grandfather of Rasulallah. Hashim the grandfather of Rasulallah and Abdusshems the grandfather of other clan were brothers. They shared the same blood. Utbe was saying other heathen leaders; “Why on earth are you opposing him. He’s someone among us. If he succeeds we may eat the same bread with him. If he conquers we share his glory, we glorify him. If he’s not than we might hit him too.” This was the logic. That’s why they never be among true believers. Because with an approach that corrupted, one can never see the light of faith.

One of the men among Museylemet-ul Kezzaba walked into the room of Museyleme, their leader. This is quite interesting, we read this story from Taberi. The man from Ben-i Hanife clan walked into the room and asked Museyleme; “You declared your prophethood, am I right?”

Museyleme answered; “Yes, I’m a prophet.”
The man replied; “Eshhedu enne Muhammeden Resulallah..!” Take notice, the man was standing in front of Museyleme and saying that Muhammad was the prophet of Allah. And then he adds these words. “Ve eshedu enneke kezibun. “Again I swear that you are nothing but a fraud.

Remember that those days Museyleme was a brutal leader, he was cutting down anyone who oppose him. Such a terror. But than the man add these words too. “Even I believe that Muhammad was the real and loyal prophet of Allah and you are only a fraud. The lying son of Ben-i Hanife is better than the truth of Kureysh for me, so I will fight alongside with you.

“And he did and died like that.” said Taberi. Here! That’s how an angry racism make you fall like that. This is what we called a blind taassup. He sweared that Muhammad is the real prophet, the deliverer of the real truth, but he fought with Museyleme instead and died for him. That’s what blind following make you do. kul innel fadle Bi yedillahi Tell them; “Most certainly, bounty is in the hands of Allah. yu’tiyhi men yesha’ Allah gives it to whom He wills. vAllahu Vasi’un ‘Aliym; Allah is the Wasi, (without limits) the Aleem (knows all).”

74-) Yahtassu Bi rahmetiHI men yesha’* vAllahu zul fadlil aziym;

“He specifies His grace (from whom He wills) to whom He wills! Allah is the Azim, the possessor of bounty.” (A.Hulusi)

For His Mercy He specially chooseth whom He pleaseth; for Allah is the Lord of bounties unbounded. (A.Yusuf Ali)

Yahtassu Bi rahmetiHI men yesha’* Allah gives mercy to whom He wills. You might notive the mercy here is the prophethood. Allah chooses the person to deliver the celestial message. vAllahu zul fadlil aziym Allah is the Lord of unlimited bounties. So why, you people of the book; think it’s not possible. Do you think Allah is unable to choose to whom He wills? Do you have the power to choose instead? Do you really want to antagonize Allah? Do you think you should have the authority to choose the prophet? If you can’t accept that simple fact, how could you call yourselves faithfuls? It’s like a declaration for them.

75-) Ve min ehlil kitabi men inte’menhu Bi kintarin yueddihi ileyke, ve minhum men in te’menhu Bi diynarin la yueddihi ileyke illa ma dumte aleyhi kaima* zalike Bi ennehum kalu leyse aleyna fiyl ummiyyiyne sebiyl* ve yekulune alAllahil kezibe ve hum ya’lemun;

Among the people to whom the knowledge of reality has been given is he who, if you entrust him with a great amount (of wealth), he will return it all to you as is. And among them is he who, if you entrust him with a single dinar (gold), he will not return it to you unless you constantly stand over him and demand it. (This is because of their thought) “The illiterate ones who are in opposition to us (who are ignorant of the reality) have no rights over us.” They deliberately lie about Allah. (A.Hulusi)

Among the People of the Book are some who, if entrusted with a hoard of gold, will (readily) pay it back; others, who, if entrusted with a single silver coin, will not repay it unless thou constantly stoodest demanding, because, they say, “there is no call on us (to keep faith) with these ignorant (people).” But they tell a lie against Allah, and (well) they know it. (A.Yusuf Ali)

Ve min ehlil kitabi men inte’menhu Bi kintarin yueddihi ileyke Qur’an has a sensitive and interesting style. It doesn’t swipe them all. Qur’an never swipes all people. If there are stones in rice, it seperates the stones. Yes. It never throws away the entire batch just because there are a few rocks in it or cook the entire batch just because the stones are a few. This attitude shows us the humility and manners. “Don’t behave an entire group, race or religion like they are all the same. There are men of virtues among them, men of ethics.” This example is set for this attitude.

Among the People of the Book are some who, if entrusted with a hoard of gold, yueddihi ileyk they will pay it back with full. ve minhum men in te’menhu Bi diynarin la yueddihi ileyk and there are others, who, if entrusted with a single coin, they will not repay it. illa ma dumte aleyhi kaima unless you demand it constantly. If you want your money back, you should constantly remind them.

zalike Bi ennehum kalu leyse aleyna fiyl ummiyyiyne sebiyl* So why do they do that? Their claims are because, “Who are in opposition to us, who are not from among the people of the book have no rights over us.” This is their claims. Especially you can see a similar form in Tora for this claim. You cannot open a credit with interest rates for the people among themselves. But you can open interest rated credits for people that are not from you. As in you can eat their money with multiple interests but you cannot do that to your own people.

Like I said, such a national god, such a national religion. If the person is among you, you should act with manners, with virtue, with ethics. But the person is someone from outside, none of these virtues, manners and ethics are needed. Virtue and manners are for everyone and you should act like that everywhere. Whatever religion to person in front of you believe, even if he doesn’t believe any religion. Virtue and ethics are constant. What’s good for you is good for others and what’s bad for you is bad for others in the same scale.

ve yekulune alAllahil kezibe ve hum ya’lemun; By doing that, do you know what they do? They slander Allah knowingly. They deliberately lie about Allah.

76-) Bela men evfa Bi ahdihi vetteka feinnAllahe yuhibbul muttekiyn;

Indeed, he who stands by his word and protects himself, undoubtedly Allah loves those who are protected. (A.Hulusi)

Nay, – Those that keep their plighted faith and act aright,-verily Allah loves those who act aright. (A.Yusuf Ali)

Bela men evfa Bi ahdihi vetteka Indeed, whoever stands by his word and protects himself, know his responsibilities to Allah feinnAllahe yuhibbul muttekiyn know well that Allah loves those who have the consciousness of responsibility.

77-) Innelleziyne yeshterune Bi ahdillahi ve eymanihim semenen kaliylen ulaike la halaka lehum fiyl ahireti vela yukellimuhumullahu vela yenzuru ileyhim yevmel kiyameti ve la yuzekkiyhim* ve lehum azabun eliym;

As for those who sell their covenant and promise to Allah for a small price; they have no share in the eternal life to come. Allah (not an external deity, the actualization of the forces of the Names within their essence) will not speak to them, look at them or purify them during the period of Doomsday. There is severe suffering for them. (A.Hulusi)

As for those who sell the faith they owe to Allah and their own plighted word for a small price, they shall have no portion in the Hereafter: Nor will Allah (Deign to) speak to them or look at them on the Day of Judgment, nor will He cleans them (of sin): They shall have a grievous penalty. (A.Yusuf Ali)

Innelleziyne yeshterune Bi ahdillahi ve eymanihim As for those who sell their covenant and promise to Allah semenen kaliylen for a small price. Those who sell their promises to Allah for a small fee.

Please pay attention to this part, their covenants to Allah. What is that promise, the covenant to Allah? First thing comes to mind is the self awareness of a person when we say the promise to Allah. Because a person become alienated to himself, to his nature is the treason to his promise to Allah. A person becomes a stranger to himself, corrupts his nature and naturally corrupts his enviroment. Corrupting his nature is stepping outside the Islam’s zone. Losing the nature of his mind, losing the balance. Letting bad feelings, bad thoughts seep into his heart and rotting it.

So when the nature is corrupted, the blasphemy follows. Because superstitious is not natural. Hakk, the truth is natural. Supertitious is synthetic, Hakk is authentic. That’s why when we see he word covenant here, the first thing we should understand is the fitrat that Allah created for us. Pure and clean fitrat. So corrupting that fitrat is treason to that promise.

So those who break their promises; ulaike la halaka lehum fiyl ahireti They won’t have a share in afterlife. Morely; vela yukellimuhumullahu Allah won’t talk to them. Allah will be upset for them. Allah won’t even look their faces. vela yenzuru ileyhim Allah won’t look at them. Not talking, not looking, not caring. What is that supposed to mean? It means being left out, being without Allah. Offending Allah, that’s what it means.

yevmel kiyame At the Day of Judgement, Allah won’t look to them. ve la yuzekkiyhim worse yet, Allah won’t clear them, purift them anymore. ve lehum azabun eliym; And that will be the greatest suffering for them. Their penalty will be severe sufferings.

There are some among them who talk by perverting the meaning (to mean something else) of the knowledge of reality, so that you think it is revealed knowledge. (Whereas) what they say is not revealed knowledge. They say, “It is from Allah,” but it is not from Allah! They deliberately lie about Allah. (A.Hulusi)

There is among them a section who distort the Book with their tongues: (As they read) you would think it is a part of the Book, but it is no part of the Book; and they say, “That is from Allah,” but it is not from Allah. It is they who tell a lie against Allah, and (well) they know it! (A.Yusuf Ali)

It is not possible that Allah should give a human the knowledge of the reality, authority and Nubuwwah, and he would say to the people, “Leave Allah and serve me!” On the contrary, he would say, “In compliance with the teachings of the knowledge of the reality and the practices you engage in, be of those who are conscious of their servitude to their Rabb.” (A.Hulusi)

It is not (possible) that a man, to whom is given the Book, and Wisdom, and the Prophetic Office, should say to people: “Be ye my worshippers rather than Allah’s”: On the contrary (he would say) “Be ye worshippers of Him (Who is truly the Cherisher of all): For ye have taught the Book and ye have studied it earnestly.” (A.Yusuf Ali)

Ma kane li besherin en yu’tiyehullahul Kitabe vel Hukme ven Nubuvvete summe yekule lin Nasi It is not possible that Allah should give a human prophethood, the authority of truth and wisdom and he would say to the people, kunu ibaden liy min dunillah “Leave Allah and serve me!” It’s not possible. Not a single prophet who was given this responsibility said their communities something like, “Leave Allah and worship me.”

ve lakin kunu Rabbaniyyine Bima kuntum tuallimunel Kitabe ve Bima kuntum tedrusun; On the contrary. They say; Be a worshipper of Allah. Be a man of Allah.” They learn the celestial message to it’s all depths and deliver it the others. As in Allah educates them and they educate others. They deliver Allah’s revelations, Allah’s manners to people.

80-) Ve la ye’murekum en tettehizul Melaikete ve Nebiyyiyne erbaba* eye’murukum Bil kufri ba’de iz entum muslimun;

He (the aforementioned one of knowledge) would not ask you to take the angels, or the Nabis as your Rabbs either. Why would he ask you to deny your reality after you have submitted to Allah? (A.Hulusi)

Nor would he instruct you to take angels and prophets for Lords and patrons. What! would he bid you to unbelief after ye have bowed your will (to Allah in Islám)? (A.Yusuf Ali)

Ve la ye’murekum en tettehizul Melaikete ve Nebiyyiyne erbaba* Nor would they tell you to take angels and prophets for gods. eye’murukum Bil kufri ba’de iz entum muslimun; Why would they ask you to deny your reality after you have submitted to Allah? If you show submission to Allah completely, no prophet, the heir of prophets, no scholars or no trusted men can instruct you to deny your truths.

Ve ahiru davana velil hamdulillahi rabbil alemiyn” (Jonah/10) “Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the Worlds!” All products of our claims, causes and lives are for Allah and our last word to our Allah is “Hamd”.
Esselamu aleykum.”
